FACULTY PROFILE

Dr. M. Rajeswari is currently serving as a Lady Physical Education Teacher under office of Dean Students Welfare at National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management – Thanjavur (NIFTEM-T), Thanjavur. She has more than 11 years of experience in the field of physical education, including teaching, coaching, sports administration, and research.

Prior to joining NIFTEM-T, she worked as a Guest Lecturer in the Department of Physical Education at Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, where she contributed to teaching and student sports development. She completed her Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) from Government Women’s College, Kumbakonam (2003–2006). Driven by her passion for sports and physical education, she pursued Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) (2006–2007) and Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) (2007–2009). She further obtained an M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, completing her doctoral degree in October 2018. In addition, she earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Fitness Management in 2010, strengthening her expertise in sports training and fitness sciences. Dr. Rajeswari has actively contributed to academic and research activities. She has contributed to framing and designing the B.P.Ed. and M.P.Ed. course syllabi, supporting curriculum development and strengthening academic standards in sports education. She has guided twelve postgraduate students and has published research articles in journals and international conference proceedings. She has also presented papers in several international and national conferences, seminars, and workshops. Her academic contributions include a book titled “Sports Biomechanics and Kinesiology”, published through Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. She has played significant roles in organizing major university sports events. She served as Coordinator for the South Zone Inter-University Kabaddi Tournament (Men, 2021), Coordinator for the South Zone Inter-University Handball Tournament (Women, 2022), and Coordinator for the All-India Inter-University Netball Tournament (Men, 2022) at Bharathidasan University. Additionally, she has been a member of the Bharathidasan University Athletic Meet organizing committee from 2019 to 2025.

Dr. Rajeswari has also demonstrated remarkable achievements as a sportsperson during her student career. She represented universities in several South Zone All India Inter-University tournaments, including Hockey, Football, and Handball between 2005 and 2009 under Bharathidasan and Bharathiar Universities. She has also participated in state-level, divisional-level, and district-level football and kabaddi competitions, and successfully qualified in the State Level Officiating Tests for Handball and Kabaddi in 2007. In addition to teaching and sports coordination, she has taken on various administrative and leadership responsibilities. She served as Camp Coordinator for UGC-sponsored Adventure Sports Trekking Camps conducted at the Nilgiri Hills (2010), Cuddalore (2011), and Himachal Pradesh (2011). She also worked as a volunteer in the National Service Scheme (NSS) during 2007–2008 at Bharathiar University, contributing to community service and student engagement activities. Through her dedication to sports education, student training, research, and event management, Dr. M. Rajeswari continues to contribute significantly to the promotion of physical fitness, sports excellence, and holistic student development.
